How To Use the NatureBond Silicone Breast Pump
The NatureBond breast pump is a one-piece silicone breast pump that attaches to your breast by natural suction. It is designed to collect milk that leaks out of your unused breast while breastfeeding. This milk that would otherwise end up being lost, can now be used to build a freezer stash to feed your little one. We have a step-by-step guide to help you use the NatureBond pump and start building your stash today.
TO USE
Step 1:
Before using, sterilise your NatureBond by boiling in hot water for 5 minutes, using steam or the Milton method.
Step 2:
Once your NatureBond is cool, it is safe to use.
Step 3:
Attach your NatureBond to your breast while you feed your little one on your other breast. The NatureBond Flip Technique will allow your pump to stay in place during your feeding. Simply flip the large flange or flap backwards and center over your nipple.
Step 4:
Once the pump is centered over your nipple, squeeze the bulb and flip the flange or flap back over your breast while releasing the bulb. This will form a natural vacuum and milk will begin collecting in the bulb.
#MUMHACK: If you want a stronger suction, squeeze the bulb on the top ring and if you prefer a gentler suction, squeeze the bulb on the bottom ring.
Step 5:
Once you are finished feeding, place the pink stopper in the pump to prevent any spills. If you will be using the milk within the next four hours, you may leave it at room temperature. If not, the milk needs to be stored properly in storage bags or bottles in the fridge or freezer. Always remember to date your stored milk to make sure that you use it within the proper amount of time. Freshly expressed breastmilk may remain at room temperature for up to four hours, can be stored in the fridge for up to four days and can be stored in the freezer for six months.
Step 6:
Clean your NatureBond after every use using a breastmilk soap and allow it to air dry. While your NatureBond is dishwasher safe, we do not recommend placing it in the dishwasher as the detergent is harsh on the silicone and will cause the pump to be less effective.
